CHERRY BERLINER ~ OAST HOUSE
A Berliner weisse is made using both traditional warm-fermenting yeasts and lactobacillus culture. They tend to be sour, tart and sharp with little hop bitterness. The Cherry Berliner pours a lovely coppery pink. I found my first pint of this refreshing and sour. The second pint, the cherries started to taste more like cherry pie filling and there was a cinnamon like dryness. Delicious but in small quantities.
