HAWAIIAN STYLE PALE ALE ~ SPEARHEAD
Sampled on
draught. Spearhead’s Hawaiian Pale ale
is brewed in the hoppy west coast tradition – with a touch of pineapple. It is naturally carbonated, unfiltered and
dry hopped. The beer began as an
experiment in the brewer’s kitchen with a bunch of leftover pineapple that was
kicking around, the rest is history.
It pours a hazy
coppery colour with a good foamy head.
Pine, pineapple and citrusy grapefruit round out the aroma. It is quite a hoppy quaff , beginning with
hints and caramel then lots of piny and citrusy hops. Finishes dry with a very subtle sweetness,
and a bittersweet aftertaste.
