ALL OR NOTHING ~ UNDERDOGS BREWING

I must go back and try this one again, because I think my taste buds may have been corrupted by that god-awful Voodoo Doughnut crap, I took of few sips of before this.

All or Nothing is the flagship beer of Oshawa’s Underdog Brewing. The beer is touted as a cross between a Hopfenweisse and a west coast pale ale.  The beer uses three types of malt and four hops to create the flavours.

Sampled from a tin, the beer poured a cloudy golden amber colour with a moderate head that quickly disappears. The nose is made up of typical wheat beer flavours:  bubble gum, banana, beady yeast and spice.  There is a little bit of hoppy grapefruit citrus on the nose as well.  The flavour had a lot of the typical banana flavours with bready yeasts and lemony citrus.  There was a grapefruit (and slightly piny) hoppiness at the finish.  The hops aren’t as strong as advertised on the tin.  As I finished the beer I went to take the last sip from the tin, but instead got a jolt of extremely unpleasant bitterness from sediment at the bottom on the tin. YUK!  It’s all right but nothing great, I have tasted other Hopfenweisse that I liked more.
