HACKER-PSCHORR HEFE WEISSE ~ PAULANER GROUP

Sampled from a bottle.    This weisse beer pours a cloudy orange-yellow, with a white head that fades quickly.  Banana is the first to hit the nose, with some wheaty yeast, a little graininess, bubble gum and mild spice.  The taste is very similar but milder than the nose: lots of banana, clove and spicy yeast, with a sweet malt at the end. Spicy wheat and funky yeast are well balanced with subtle bitterness.  I thought this was a great example of a traditional Hefe Weisse.  I would drink it again.
