…AND BOOM GOSE THE DYNAMITE ~ BEAU’S

This Gose is part of the Oktoberfest sample package from Beau’s, and also #27 in their “Wild Oats” series.  The beer pours an opaque golden yellow, with a good amount of lasting white creamy head.  The nose is mild and contains: fruit, malt, yeast, subtle spice and lemony citrus.  The beer is rather light in taste.  It starts off with a mild malty sweetness, followed by a little fruit and ending with a touch of coriander seed and salt; the aftertaste is minimal. It is well carbonated which gives a crisp feeling in the mouth.  I found this smooth and easy drinking, especially as I got to the more flavourful bottom of the bottle.
At one time Gose was almost ‘extinct’’ but now is a hugely popular beer that has been revived by craft brewers everywhere.  Gose takes it name from Goslar in Lower Saxony.  The brew is made with salt water, which echoes the water used by Goslar Brewers, which flow through mineral rich aquifers.
